Building a Culture of Collaboration

"I had the good fortune of working with Travis during my time working with mcCallumSather. At the time, he was the BIM Manager and I was a Junior Designer trying to learn and get a better understanding of BIM.
As anyone who has transitioned from learning REVIT through online courses, to practicing it on actual projects, quickly comes to understand, they are not the same. When struggling to cope with the load of modelling on projects with tight deadlines and stringent quality requirements, is when I discovered the trait that separates Travis from most people I have worked with, in our industry. A trait that is difficult to find anywhere.

Kindness.

Travis was always willing to help. He was always welcoming, and always willing to patiently explain the mistakes I was making, using his personal time to help correct some of my errors. I believe this stems from his humility and willingness to learn. He was always talking to fellow colleagues in the industry. Putting his ego aside and bringing them things that stumped him, so that he can learn it himself and more importantly teach it.

His drive to master his craft is something that has rubbed off on me and one of the reasons I have made the progress I have, in my career, over this short duration. I am sure you can find a lot of people to teach you the stuff that Travis does. I am also sure you would have a really difficult time finding someone with the same perfect combination of integrity, kindness and humility. He has inspired and helped me a lot on this Western adventure I am having, so trust me, you want him on your team. And even if he isn't on your team, he will still do his best to help you. That's the kind of person he is."
